b. This access code is a seven-character code that will keep your personal information secure and confidential
b. But if you have an EI access code, you can use it instead of using personal access code (PAC)
Don’t forget this!!!
Before you register for My Service Canada Account (MSCA) account you have to have the following things ready:
– The first on the list is your social insurance number (SIN)
– The second is your date of birth
– While the third is your access code
But if you already have an access code then it means that you’ve applied for or are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), or Old Age Security (OAS). All you need here if you already have an access code is to visit this page http://www.esdc.gc.ca/en/msca/find_PAC.page and then follow the instruction given to retrieve your access code.
How to get a PAC: personal access code (PAC)
a. Connect your phone or computer to internet access and visit this web address https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/my-account/request-pac.html
b. On the page provide your Social Insurance Number, first name, last name, date of birth, and your parent’s family name at birth.
c. If you are a Canadian resident or your country of residence if you are a foreign resident then also provide your postal code.
e. Once you apply online, your personal access code (PAC) will be mailed to you between 5 to10 business days
f. You can as well contact their customer response center anytime by calling 1-800-277-9914
Please take note of this!!!
If you are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), you can use your Employment Insurance (EI) access code instead of personal access (PAC) code to register for MSCA. Your Employment Insurance access code is on the first Benefit Statement you receive in the mail after you apply for it. But if there is an error and the code didn’t come in the mail then you have to call Service Canada at 1-800-206-7218. Also, those living outside of Canada will receive an Employment Insurance (EI) access code in the mail after applying for EI benefits.
